For a few weeks in October, nature puts on one of its most spectacular displays as native trees and shrubs finish out the growing season in a brilliant display of fall colors. With its pleasant, sunny weather, fall is an ideal time to go fishing in the Cumberland County area, be it on the Cumberland River or Dale Hollow Lake.

Enjoy the slower pace of the fall season as well as the autumn activities in the county. The Cumberland River Bluegrass Festival takes place the third Saturday in September and the Sportsman Swap Meet happens on the first weekend of October. Take your time and drive through some of the hollows and hills as the leaves turn. Don't forget your camera; our area features abundant wildlife that will make perfect memory-keepers for the scrapbooks.
